The Energy Cube of Stadtwerke Konstanz

This building is known as the "energy cube" it has air circulating in the space between the glass panes is sucked out and can be used for energy by means of a heat exchanger. All the glass modules have been specially made, measure three by four meters and every single one of them weighs more than a ton. This concept was developed by the Lindner Group from Arnstorf, Germany. The "Energy Cube" relies on regenerative energy, its a stepping stone for the group's plan to provide all customer services using a single reusable source.

  4. Its edge length is 15 meters. The Energy Cube has a total area of approx. 800 m2 on all floors. The building rests on 47 piles that had to be pushed up to 18 meters deep into the ground. The façade is transparent and aesthetic with its scattered opaque surfaces. It consists of 80 large glass panels with a total area of 1000 m2. In the inside of the Energy Cube, transparency has been maintained not only for light, but also to demonstrate our openness to customers.
IM sure it can be tinted, as tinted as tinted can go.
